Hope everyone had a good 4th of July, even if fireworks were a little harder to come by! June gloom has finally left us, and it was a beautiful sunny day at Lake San Marcos! The Lake House Hotel and Resort is so pretty, surprisingly it was my first time there. They have a cute hotel and restaurant right by the lake, complete with grass and a little beach! Brittany and Nick had a beautiful elopement this week as their wedding had to be downsized due to Covid. My own wedding had to be postponed, so I feel their pain. It's such a bummer to postpone or cancel a wedding that took so much time and effort to plan, but might be necessary to protect the health of loved ones.
Brittany and Nick are high school sweethearts! One of their favorite things is getting into the great outdoors with their German Shepard pup, and love spending time in the desert and at the river. Their favorite local spots are Vail Lake and Havasu, and riding dirt bikes and side by sides at Glamis and Ocotillo. That sounds like a blast, I need to go ride some dirt bikes out in the desert!
Nick actually proposed to Britany via scavenger hunt, so cute! He gave her 3 tries chances to find the ring that was in their apartment. She couldn't find the ring, so Nick gave up and the just proposed in the middle of the apartment instead. And now here they are! They have been together for 12 years, and are still as in love as ever!
Since they did a small elopement, they opted for the Gondola Cruise around the lake which was an awesome way to celebrate being just married with some champagne. A gondola ride into the sunset is my new favorite send off!
